Security Updates
  • Updated dependent libraries for security upgrades.

  • Updated Chromium and Chromium Driver for important security fixes.
Improvements
Improvement: Harvest and Harvest Rulesets
  • Sintelix Extension has been updated to V2.1.1 (available from the Chrome Web Store).

  • New Document Structure options that support creating and changing the Sintelix document structure based on rule names.

  • Additional options for harvesting all images and extracting alt text related to images.

  • Updated preview when editing harvester rulesets.

Improvement: Ingestion and Document Processing Configurations
  • Added Failure Handling to create a placeholder document when ingestion fails.

  • Added Pre-processing to create Document Properties and Document Tags based meta-data evaluation.

  • Added option to use a Dictionary when creating meta-data evaluation rules.

  • Added option to run an Early-Stage document processing script.

Improvement: Language Detection
  • Improved language detection for faster speed and support for additional languages.Added the ability to sort rules and edit paths.

Improvement: Collections
  • Updated Summary tab to allow easier selection of properties and added support to display a summary of Ingestion Properties.

  • Added export option to download a CSV file of the Summary tab results.

Improvement: Custom Reports (Network Custom Template)
  • Timeline View and Map are now available for Custom Reports.

  • Link Table now supports a sub-component with Link Mode to display information from the link, including a new Link Target module to display information from the target node.

  • Added HyperLink component to link to a Network Graph, Table or Cluster Refinement.

  • Multi-Value fields can now be formatted as lists, numbered lists, and bullet lists.

Improvement: Question Answering
  • Implemented new processing engine for Question Answering to improve performance and provide future expansion capabilities.

    • An updated GPU driver and GPU plug-in are required for Sintelix 7.9.

  • Added ability to copy all documents with answers into a collection.

Improvement: Server Libraries
  • Server Libraries now support accessing an AWS S3 bucket.

Improvement: Backups
  • Refactored Sintelix Database backup to be reliable and support the latest project definitions.

  • Added new command-line option to restore a Sintelix Database from backup.

  • Added support for an AWS S3 bucket as a backup target.

Bug Fixes
  • Email Ingestion – Fixed issues impacting ingestion of different email and calendar content types, including detection of a wider range of email addresses using newer top-level domains.

  • Excel Ingestion – Fixed unable to import Excel file with complex pivot table.

  • Audit Log – Fixed missing Project ID on Delete Document and Delete Collection audit logs.

  • Network Graph – Fixed issue loading map tiles when zooming in and out.

  • Part of Speech – Fixed issue with POS not set correctly when a text block is all capitalised.

  • Background Task – Fixed issue prevent cancellation of background tasks.

  • Text Reference Refiner – Fixed issue with dictionary generation creating empty values.

  • Windows Installer – Changed installation folder is now remembered when re-installing/upgrading.

  • Fixed display issues on Network Graph, Network Tables and Maps.

Important installation notes:
  • Updated GPU Driver and GPU Plug-in installers are required to use the GPU enabled functions. This includes an update to use CUDA 12.4.

    • Please download the updated GPU installers from My Sintelix.

  • The Linux installation script has been updated to install the new GPU zip files and CUDA dependencies.

Important future compatibility considerations:
  • Chrome is being phased out as the primary browser for Sintelix harvester functionality due to restrictions being implemented by Google.

    • The next version of the Sintelix Extension (required for Harvester Ruleset configuration) will be released for the Firefox browser.

  • Tomcat 9 for Linux will not be supported in future Sintelix releases. Jetty 11 web server will be supported for both Windows and Linux installations with future versions.
